Senior Node.js Developer / Freelance up to 9 000 CZK/MD

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) to join a team responsible for an intelligent conversational solution embedded directly into a large-scale digital application.

The role focuses on building backend services that enable real-time communication, natural-language interactions, and integrations with AI-powered services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Develop business-critical backend logic for a conversational / chatbot-based solution
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations
• Implement real-time communication features
• Develop and maintain backend logic connected to AI services (e.g. conversational AI, copilots, LLM-based solutions)
• Ensure high code quality through unit and integration testing
• Collaborate within a Scrum / agile development environment

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience with Node.js
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of:
• backend architecture
• asynchronous programming
• modular design principles
• Experience with REST API development
• Testing-oriented mindset (unit & integration tests)
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
• Familiarity with Docker
• Experience working in agile / Scrum teams
• Fluent English (interviews and daily communication are conducted in English)
