Backend Developer

We are looking for a Backend Developer. The Backend Developer has the skills to develop large and / or complex programs, incl. design, coding and testing. As part of test responsibilities, defines and creates test cases, executes test activities and reports on progress. We are looking for Backend Developer to join the Clearstream Fund Services development team (CFS) to work on a connectivity (pure middleware backend only) application. The application is running over Oracle database. The main purpose of the application is to physically route and transform messages from source system to target system (including SWIFT network). The communication with other systems is handled via OAQs. Use Git, JIRA, Maven and Liquibase to support our SCRUM development and Jenkins, Sonar, Junit, Playwright and Cucumber tests in our integration.

Who we’re looking for?

• Practical experience with development of standard & enterprise Java applications (3 years or more)
• Excellent Java programming skills
• Experience and knowledge of Oracle Database Server and PL/SQL
• Must be a responsible and reliable team player with good communication skills
• Critical thinking, the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
• English is mandatory and this includes good English writing skills
• Ability to work in a cross-location international team
• An interest in financial world (Mutual / Hedge Funds) is appreciated

Technologies:

• UML usage, design patterns
• Experience with Spring (Framework, Boot, Security, Data, Integration) or Fronend technologies is advantage, but not mandatory
• Previous knowledge of SWIFT protocol / messages will be an advantage
• A background in financial markets, clearing or banking will be an advantage
• Continuous Integration/Delivery tools (Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Maven, Artifactory, IntelliJ)
• Command script development and execution on Linux and Windows (ksh/bash/PowerShell)
• Jenkins, Sonar integration tools
• Knowledge of unit testing tools such as Junit / Mocking Frameworks / Playwrigth
